Beverage Clarification and Product Quality
Premature membrane fouling, inconsistent clarity, and microbiological instability at the packaging stage share a common root cause: insufficient pre-filtration upstream. This is particularly acute in wine, beer, high-pulp juice, and preservative-free or cold-filtered beverages, where a single upstream failure can affect the entire batch.
Cleanova addresses this through a structured two-stage filtration sequence matched to the specific process conditions of each application. The result: consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and lower total filtration cost.
Pre-Filtration: CleanFine
CleanFine uses multi-layer pleated polypropylene construction with progressively finer porosity to capture suspended solids before the final membrane stage. By removing yeast cells, fermentation residues, and protein haze upstream, CleanFine protects the final-stage membrane from premature clogging and extends service intervals across juice, wine, soft drink, and brewing applications.

Final-Stage Microbiological Control: CleanSelect
CleanSelect delivers reliable microbiological safety and consistent product quality at a competitive cost, suited to high-volume applications where proven performance and cost-efficiency are the priorities.
Final-Stage Microbiological Control: CleanPurity
CleanPurity, Cleanova’s premium final-stage option, uses a highly asymmetric PES membrane with a greater active filtration area, providing extended service life, high microorganism retention, and flavor protection, particularly suited to preservative-free beverages. Both options are fully integrity-testable following production, supporting QA validation and audit readiness.

Process Water and Ingredient Water Treatment
SCB Series Activated Carbon Cartridges
Cleanova’s SCB Series Activated Carbon Cartridges remove chlorine, chloramines, taste, odor, color, and dissolved organic compounds, including VOCs and THMs, from incoming water and process liquids before product contact. The SCB Series extends to CIP utility water, bottle rinsing water, and sanitation feed lines, helping maintain consistent water quality across the full range of facility water applications. All plastic materials used in the SCB Series comply with FDA 21 CFR 177 requirements for food-contact applications.

Pressure Leaf Filtration & Filter Press Solutions: Sugar Beet, Wet Corn Milling, and Edible Oils
Beyond cartridge and membrane filtration, Cleanova offers a comprehensive liquid-solid separation portfolio, including pressure leaf filtration, filter press solutions, and engineered filter media that improve clarification, dewatering, and overall process performance for sugar beet processing, wet corn milling, and edible oil refining.
Complementing these technologies are comprehensive service solutions that help optimize system performance, maximize uptime, and extend the life of filtration assets.
Sugar Beet Processing: A Legacy Since 1906
We have supported sugar beet processors since 1906, giving us a depth of process knowledge that spans generations of campaign operations. Pressure leaf filters are core equipment in beet sugar processing, used for carbonation juice clarification, thin and thick juice polishing, and syrup filtration, where precoat and body-feed filtration remove suspended solids, calcium carbonate precipitates, and colloidal material ahead of evaporation and crystallization. Reliable, high-throughput clarification during the compressed sugar beet campaign season directly protects the performance of downstream evaporators and crystallizers.
- Consistent juice clarity supporting evaporator and crystallizer efficiency
- High solids-handling capacity suited to peak campaign throughput
- Over a century of application experience specific to beet sugar processing
Wet Corn Milling
Wet corn milling generates process streams, including steepwater, gluten, and starch process liquors, that require robust solids separation ahead of evaporation and further refining. Our pressure leaf filters handle this high-solids clarification duty, complementing our cartridge filtration range across syrup refining, RO and boiler feed water pretreatment, corn oil processing, and CIP utility water, for a filtration train that covers the full wet milling process from steep through finished syrup.
- Effective solids separation across corn steepwater, gluten, and starch liquor streams
- Protection of downstream evaporators and syrup refining equipment from solids fouling
- A combined pressure leaf and cartridge filtration approach across the full milling proces
Edible Oil Processing
Edible oil refining depends on efficient removal of gums, bleaching earth, and waxes at several distinct process stages. Our pressure leaf filters are widely used for degumming filtration, post-bleaching filtration to remove spent bleaching earth and adsorbed impurities, and winterization/dewaxing filtration to separate crystallized waxes from finished oil, supporting the clarity, stability, and shelf life that refined edible oils require.
- Efficient bleaching earth removal after the bleaching stage
- Reliable wax separation during winterization for cold-stable finished oils
- Consistent oil clarity and extended shelf life across degumming, bleaching, and finishing stages
Engineering Expertise and Lifecycle Support From Cleanova
Successful filtration depends on more than selecting the right product. It requires application expertise, engineering support, and a partner who understands your process from specification through ongoing operation. Cleanova is that partner.
From sugar beet processing, wine and brewing to dairy, edible oils, juice, and beverage production, Cleanova’s engineers have helped food and beverage manufacturers optimize filtration performance and increase process reliability for more than a century.
Liquid Filtration Expertise for Food and Beverage
Cleanova combines more than a century of application expertise with one of the industry’s most comprehensive liquid filtration portfolios for food and beverage manufacturing. We work closely with F&B customers to understand their processes, operating conditions, and production objectives before recommending a solution. The result is filtration that supports product quality, operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and long-term performance.
Understanding Your Process
Every filtration application is different. Before recommending the most appropriate solution, Cleanova works with you to understand your process, including flow rates, fluid characteristics, contaminant loading, operating temperatures, pressures, and regulatory requirements. This application-led approach helps ensure the right filtration technologies are selected to deliver reliable performance and long-term value.
Our applications team works directly alongside your production staff, assessing your process conditions, performance goals, operational challenges, and industry requirements through close technical and commercial collaboration.
Diagnosing the Cause, Not Just the Symptoms
When filtration performance changes, simply replacing the filter rarely solves the underlying problem. Cleanova works with F&B customers to identify the factors affecting performance, whether that’s changes in contaminant loading, fluid characteristics, operating conditions, pre-filtration performance, or filter selection, before recommending the most effective solution.
Sanitary and Food-Grade Design Throughout
All Cleanova food and beverage filtration solutions are manufactured using materials compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177 and EC 1935/2004 for food-contact applications. Products are engineered for CIP/SIP compatibility across the chemistries and temperature ranges common in food manufacturing.
Lifecycle Partnership
Cleanova supports manufacturers from initial specification through planned filter replacement and performance review. Support adapts as production volumes, formulations, and regulatory requirements evolve, so your filtration program remains matched to your process, not locked to the specification you started with.
